I've found myself becoming more and more creatively inspired by music. Writing, art, whatever. This pic of Maurice was inspired by "Sail Away" by The Rasmus.
Sail away, it's time to leave Rainy days are yours to keep Fade away, the twilight is calling my name You will stay, I'll sail away
No reason to lie No need to pretend I'm grateful to die To live once again I'm fearless to fly And reach for the end And reach for the end
Now, anyone who knows Maurice's story knows how well those lyrics fit him.
Anywho, experimenting a lot. First serious piece in a long time. Still can't do BGs and I'm too chicken to attempt anything more than this. XD
And can anyone tell me how to make it not look all gross and pixely?

Aww...Maurice would love that! Unlike many of my other characters, he's very fond of affection. Despite this picture, he's usually a bundle of smiles! He's just barely under the "obnoxiously happy" point.
...he's just got a tragic, angsty life story. XD

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More

"Oooh, ooooooooo~ Salen, you look angry~!" Kari chirped, cheerfully.
Salen blinked, "It... It is nothing." He said, pointedly ignoring the huge dent in the cargo hold wall.
"Damn. I...damn," said Adrian, eyeing the dent made with solely a fist.
